Prime duty of life

One should act according to the order of Krishna. This is very important point. That order of Krishna comes through disciplic succession from the bonafide spiritual master. Therefore, the spiritual master’s order should be taken as the prime duty of life. If one gets a bonafide spiritual master and acts according to his direction, then one’s perfection of life in Krishna consciousness is guaranteed.

— Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Bhagavad Gita As It Is, 18.57 Purport.

Selected Upadesavali of Śrīla Bhakti Prajnana Keśava Goswami Mahārāja

  • Bhagavat-bhakti is attained by visrambha-seva (intimate service) to the lotus feet of Śrī Guru.

  • Honest service to Śrī Hari, guru and Vaiṣṇavas is actual guru-sevā.

  • The aṅga of bhakti known as kīrtana is the best and complete limb of bhakti.

  • Preaching Hari-kathā always and everywhere is real Hari-kīrtana.

  • To speak Hari-kathā always and everywhere or to be absorbed in speaking about services related to Śrī Hari is real silence.
